What is the enrollment process?
We use a simple 3-step enrollment process:
- Complete the online application
- Submit all required forms
- Receive confirmation of acceptance and start date
What are the age requirements?
Students must meet AISD age requirements for their grade level.
Note: Kooken accepts 3-year-olds for the PM session only.
Do you offer drop-in care?
Yes. Drop-in care is available at a daily rate, based on campus availability.
To use drop-in care, families must:
- Complete the online application
- Submit all required forms
- Receive confirmation of acceptance and start date
- Make payment in advance
All steps must be completed before a student may attend drop-in care.

BILLING FAQs
What is the billing cycle?
Full-time students are billed weekly in advance. Tuition must be paid before a child may attend programming.
Weekly Billing Schedule (Full-Time)
Monday
- Prior week’s penalty fees appear on account (if applicable)
- Upcoming week’s tuition is billed
- Account Summary emailed to Primary Account Holder
Wednesday
- Auto-payments processed for enrolled families
Thursday
- Tuition due by 5:00 PM for the upcoming week
Friday
- Late fees applied to past due balances
Following Monday
- Students may not attend if payment has not been received
Important
- Tuition is non-refundable once billed on Monday
- No credits, refunds, or adjustments for non-attendance
- Non-payment may result in denial of program access upon arrival
How does billing work for drop-in students?
Drop-in students are charged a daily rate per day of attendance.

Drop-In Payment Policy
By Monday at 12:00 PM
- Payment is due for any drop-in care requested that week
Late or same-day requests
- Minimum 2-hour notice required
- Payment must be made in full before attendance
Failure to pay may result in the student being sent to the school office.
Drop-in rates are not prorated to full-time tuition.
Do you bill for holiday weeks?
No. We do not bill during holiday breaks unless the student is enrolled in a Holiday Camp.
Who do I contact if I need help on-site?
Each campus has a direct phone number listed under “Resources” for quick access.
PROGRAM FAQs
How do I report my student’s absence?
Call your campus phone number and follow the voicemail instructions. This ensures timely communication with staff and accurate attendance records.
What time does the program end?
Program hours run from school dismissal until 6:00 PM.
Manuel Jara campus ends at 5:30 PM.
Late Pick-Up Fees (after 6:00 PM)
- 6:01–6:15 PM → $10
- 6:16–6:30 PM → $20
- 6:31–6:45 PM → $30
- Fees increase every 15 minutes until pick-up
What activities do students participate in?
Students engage in structured enrichment activities, including:
- Homework support
- Arts & crafts
- Outdoor play
- STEM activities
- Literacy and reading time
- Team-building games
- Age-appropriate enrichment
Sample Daily Schedule
(Times may vary by district)
Before School Program
6:30 AM – Program Opens
- Check-in begins
- Fine motor activities, games, manipulatives
- Homework support as needed
7:45 AM – Breakfast Line-Up
- Students receiving breakfast are escorted to cafeteria
8:00 AM – Classroom Dismissal
- Remaining students are released to classrooms
After School Program
3:30 PM – Dismissal & Attendance
- Students arrive and attendance is taken
3:55 PM – Snack, Water Break & Hygiene
4:15 PM – Homework / Reading Time (30 minutes)
4:45 PM – Rotation Groups
Age-based programming:
- Pre-K–2nd Grade
- 3rd–6th Grade
Activities may include:
- Curriculum activities
- Arts & crafts
- Physical fitness
- Outdoor play (weather permitting)
5:45 PM – Social-Emotional Learning
- Teamwork
- Communication skills
- Relationship building
6:00 PM – Clean-Up & Program Close
Is my student required to stay until 6:00 PM?
No. Students may be picked up at any time during program hours.
What campuses offer Before School Care?
Before School Care is available from 6:30 AM–approximately 7:45 AM.

How are age groups separated?
Students are grouped by grade level:
- Pre-K–2nd Grade
- 3rd–5th Grade
This ensures safety and developmentally appropriate programming.
